My aunt had an exposed radiator with just a small metal cover. My goal was to create a cover in the style of her formal dining area for a house built before 1904. The window is an excellent place for plants in the winter months. Accommodating the desire to grow plants, pink granite tiles were inserted in the oak-framed top. The front corner legs are at 45 degrees due it being a high-traffic area. The gold-tone punched metal allows the heat to pass through without any obstruction. The finish was a polyurethane over stained oak, providing a finished product in style with its surroundings.
