Comment by Alex Shiells on September 18, 2012 at 9:37am: many many many hours of sanding and spraying! I know that generally woodworkers don't like painting/finishing but to me you are not going to buy a raw product and the finish is what makes it. you not going to buy an unpainted Ferrari right!

I sprayed a 2K automotive paint on the MDF after sealing it with a MDF sealer. Then between coats flattening with a 1000 grit water paper.

After spraying I flattened again with 2000 grit and then polished with a rubbing compound, then polishing with a swirl remover and then finally with a polish.

Jig settings for 2 ¾ x 1 ½ boards with 30 degree miters?

I making a hex ring out of 2x4s ripped to 2 ¾ inches wide with 30 degree miters. What setting on the Jig should I used? 1 ½ is too much. Thanks.Continue
