Awesome table.Red oak is a wood that is loved for its durability and strength and also is very good looking.Red oak tables are perhaps the most popular in the market. They have that elegant and stylish look to them thus transforming any area that they are placed in. You will find the table a beauty and they are bound to serve all your needs for a long time.

For finish I used General Finish products, first a sealer and let dry then sanded it because it made the grain come up. Then stained with Black Cherry waterbase from them and then four coats of flat poly from them also waterbase. The top is three peice of red oak glued and clamped together with about 8 pocket screws as well. Basicly the top I jointed the edges before glueing and screwing together and clamps too.

This is really awesome.

Rodger, I would like to ask some questions:

1. What did you use to finish the table?

2. When joining the red oak did you use pocket hole screws or biscuits?

3. Can you briefly explain your process in making the top?

The reason I am asking is that I want to construct a wood counter top for our hall bathroom and the principles should be the same.

Thanks!

Stan Pearse
