Wayson,
If you look back on April 5th, you'll see I don't really have plans, but a 40 year old table my uncle built. Thanks for the compliment.

I learned a lot with this project. To finish before assembly is a must, or at least partially finished. A template that is accurate is worth the time it takes to create it. Water Based Stains are not my favorite. Don't waste time or money with aerosol spray polyurethane.
I added the decals before applying polyurethane. Sanded between coats with 400 wet/dry paper, very lightly with extra care on the decals as they were not laminated.

Ian,
Thanks. The top was the only place I used the KJ this time. This was truly a learning experience, and I've figured out some other problems I encountered with this first attempt. I am going to try and use the KJ on the cleats, and stretchers (supports near the bottom).
I actually have about 4 hours invested in this first one, but a lot of that time was measuring and trying to match the old table I was using for a pattern. This first one was made out of pine, and I'm planning on using poplar for the next one.
Since I have my own printing business (www.macteesinc.com) I'm printing the decals which will be about 7 inches in diameter and there will be two different decals on the table.

This is an awesome table!! I was planning on making this very thing for my son's Amtgard group and putting the fighting company's emblem on them.

Was is difficult retrofitting the design to use the jig?

How long did it take to make your first table?

Again nice job!!!

I used a 40+ year old table my uncle made my mother for this project. Its light weight and very versatile. My wife has claimed this one for her office. I have stained it a bluish color and I'm adding decals to the top before I apply the Poly finish.
All of the legs, cleats, and supports were cut from a single 2X4. The gop was made from scrap pine 1X12 and 1X4. I'll post the finished product shortly.

I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.

First the docking station is extremely cheap. The plastic is pathetic. A Lego has more…
