Deck Railing

A unique design that allows your balusters to sit atop the bottom rail and under the top rail, rather than being nailed on the outside.

The top and bottom rails are just toe nailed into the posts, in retrospect, I could have used pocket screws to mount them to the post.  My original plan was to toe nail the balusters, but when I started, there were problems with splitting and they were hard to keep in place while driving the nails.  That is when I thought about the Kreg and decided to use it.  Not only simplified the process, but made it cleaner looking and straighter as well.

Skulldigger, did you use pocket holes on the top and bottom rails, or on the balusters exclusively?  Very nice looking deck/railing project.  Thanks for posting.
