With temps soaring above 100 degrees I wanted to give my neighborhood birds some relief. This simple bird bath stand is made of scraps. The bowl is an inexpensive plastic container-plant saucer, available at any garden center. I added the rock as a perch for birds and bees. Painted it blue to attract the Western Bluebirds that use the nestbox I built nearby.

Carl, I drove a piece of rebar into the ground, leaving about 18 inches above ground. I then slipped 1/2-inch conduit tube over that and secured those together with a coupler. One screw on the coupler tightens to the rebar and the other to the conduit pipe. Then I just attached the conduit to the back of the mounting post (which faces away from the street so it is not in open view). I have used this system with a number of bird next boxes and it works well. Here is a link with more details: http://nestboxbuilder.com/nestbox-tutorial-mounting-box.html
Can you tell me what. YOu used to stake it in the ground

First the docking station is extremely cheap. The plastic is pathetic. A Lego has more…
