Thanks Ken for the info, since we not allow to have pets here and most of my life we just put the bowls on the floor. Even after I got into woodworking I never thought about a raised shelf to hold the bowls and make it easier for the pets to eat, drink and not strain there necks.

James,

the curved sides, give the dog the opportunity to get closer to the bowls,

so he doesn't hit his knees.  And he can just stand in the center, and move his head side-to-side,

from eating to drinking.

Jig settings for 2 ¾ x 1 ½ boards with 30 degree miters?
