Larry -
I enjoyed seeing your work. I'm especially interested in building a porch swing to replace an old one. I like the ones shown in your pic numbers 100-1355 and 100-1294. The one I need will be 60" wide. Would you provide information on the type and dimension of wood you used? I'm concerned about weight for a seat of this size. Thanks
Bruce
I buy Kiln dried preasure treated then Kiln dried again Yellow Pine, which is the hardest of the soft woods. I buy 5/4 "decking and rip it just under 1 3/4'' to get three Slats . I use 2"X8"and cut the frame out of those. I run it thru my planer to prevent a lot of extra sanding. I predrill all the holes to prevent splitting. It does have some weight to it but not like the wet treated lumber. I haven't had any problem with weight myself.
Hi Larry Fantastic photos and some great pieces of workmanship, Six of those pub style chairs would look great on my patio, If you could send me some measurements for the chairs. I would be more than grateful, Cheers
