I don't think a woodworker will ever have enough space, unless they had a stadium.

hi brandon, i commented earlier, but have since uploaded some pictures of my shop underconstruction, they may help you out. i love the light the windows let in. dont skimp on windows, i didnt give up much wall space and no issues with a bench along the wall under the windows.
nice shop man. i like the windows too. just not sure if i would put that many that size in my shop when i build it depending on where i have space to build my shop at my house once i get it. just don't want any windows near a fence or any where someone can access easily out of sight.

The garage single or even better 24 x 24 is a nice size, my basement shop is 40 ft long x 11 1/2 ft wide with access to 16 x 20 on other side of shop if needed.
I still need half that gain my ceiling height is only 6 ft 10 inches high a downfall

For years I worked in my garage until I retired and start buying wood working equipment and got tired of moving it around to get the car in, even though I had most of it on casters.  I bought an old house 1 block from my house and converted part of it into a workshop which is 20 x 20.  I then added a garage with a 12' high ceiling that is 24 x 26.  Then the remainder of the house turned out have a bad foundation, so I tore it down and you can see all my projects going into what I call my "man cave"  I made a video in July see http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1ogcBn2wC5g
hi brandon, i worked in a 9x15 basement shop with 6'6" ceilings, then moved and got the 24x24 garage. wife wanted to park in garage so i got to build a 24x40 shop with 10 foot ceilings. i have pics posted. contact me if i can answer any questions. good luck with your new shop.

thanks for the comment brandon. we live out of town and the dogs let us know if something is in the yard. some other specs. r19 in the walls r 45 in the ceiling, osb for inside walls, i can hang anything anywhere, 200 amp service, cable and heat and ac are on the way. my brother in law sells heat/ac. got a 7 month old electric furnace and heat pump for 500 bucks, real lucky. i have 9 four foot flourcent light to light whole shop, see my pics for the bulbs. light shop just like day time. please let me know if you have any questions, very happy to help, i am very fortunate to have my shop. good luck with your shop, please post some pics as construction is ongoinging and when finished.

Had a 24'X40' metal building built for my shop.  All tools on bases so I can move them around.
My work area is a 53 foot retired Pepsi trailer. My power source is either a generator, or I take the tools to the back yard and work off the deck. (Trailer is to far away for extension cords) works for me right now and allows ne to make a mess and build.

Free Hand Guard (dust collection)

Hi.  I'm wondering if anyone has used the Woodpecker Free Hand Guard for dust collection on their bench top router table during pattern routing.  How effective is it?  It's adaptable to any router table.  Continue

New Kreg 720Pro

I saw the video Kreg put out for this new jig and had high hopes for it.

I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.

First the docking station is extremely cheap. The plastic is pathetic. A Lego has more…
