Since i just started learning to wood work, I have found that i could make nothing but jigs for the next year. and another making add on to the power tools i have, such as a extension fence for mither saw, same thing for drill press and so on. Some times i feel like i wont ever get to where i can make something.

I make the jigs as I need them as some others here do, like Brian.   Steve, don't get caught up in things that take the fun of the work away or you'll find yourself avoiding the shop.  I have built lots of equipment, jigs and cabinets that make my work easier and more efficient, but I allways did it either when I got a new (or different) tool and had to set it up or if I saw the need for repetitive work, and like Kenny...all the shop cabinets are the same height and on rollers.  I try also to keep all similar tools in the same area or cabinet with the primary unit, like, for example, if you have a router table, put in onto a roller cabinet with storage below and keep all your routers and bits there...here's some examples from my kinda primitive but pretty efficient shop, with smaller tools
Steve,
Making jigs can be fun and rewarding.
Make any and all, that you like or you think you'll need.
Hang 'em up in your shop and admire them.
You can sit back, admire them, and say to yourself, '' I made those!''.
And, when your friends see them displayed, they might say, ''where'd you get them?, I didn't know you new how to do that''.
You'll be proud of your accomplishments.
When you get into making projects, you'll find many of them very handy and useful.

Check out various woodworking websites, some offer lots of jigs & fixtures, that are very useful.

As a newbee, in woodworking, make the simple jigs & fixtures first, then expand as you gain knowledge and experience.

Good luck with your woodworking tasks.
