I am trying to fill some gouges in a reclaimed cypress table I am making (not all just some of the deep ones),  I have tried Min-wax wood filler and Elmer's wood filler, on a scrap piece and when I put the stain on It really shows exactly where the filler Is.   Does anyone know what fillers or what can i use that will accept stain and help hide the repair?

Please help.    Thanks Rick

Hi Rick, You can try using a mixture of saw dust from the wood you are using and a little bit of glue, also you could get a filler that is a close match to the stain you are using and fill in the spots after you stain the wood

What is blade fake? and How do I achieve this?  Thanks for the reply

Be sure & blade fake grain your woodfilled spots to overcome the smooth & tight fled surface, this helps accept stain or dyes, depending on which technique you're using.

I saw the video Kreg put out for this new jig and had high hopes for it.

I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.
