What's your daytime job?

Just thought I would start a discussion on woodworkers real jobs. It would be fun to no if there are lots of professional people using Kreg Jig along with people  like myself a retired  construction worker.

Thanks Coby we used to have friends in Rawlings  area. I remember driving up there from Colorado one late fall weekend and before the weekend was over they locked the freeway up s we could not get back. Bad snow storm came in

Hello, Im from Nebraska but spend much of my time in wyoming. I am a machinist for a class1 railroad. I repair main line failed locomotives and railcars. So I cover alot of ground,But in my free time which is very limited I love to do woodworking. Im really just kind of getting started relearning everything I have forgotten over the years. I equate my day job to that of a paramedic. Slow most of the time but it's always an emergency when we get a call. I really enjoy seeing what someone has made from almost nothing and the skill and knowledge that they must have. I hope the best for all and keep up the awesome projects!

No I have never heard of him

I love bluegrass and play it when I have the opportunity.  I also learned the Chet Atkins style when I was a teenager and still play it today.  I have recently been inspired by the Australian guitarist, Tommy Emmanuel.  Have you hear of him?

I work for local government as a Housing Rehabilitation Specialist, which is just another name for a residential contractor.  I have been involved in residential construction & woodworking for over since about 1974.  My day to day work involves overseeing the rehabilitation of homes and designing and building new homes for low-income families.  I do woodworking as a hobby.

I am also a guitarist.  My son, Marc Broussard, is a recording artist currently with Atlantic Records.  I have had the great pleasure of performing with him on many occasions in the past years.  I play mostly jazz & R&B.

So on the coffe table/storage chest I am building for my daughter I would like to inlay a couple of ceramic till 12x12 on a 2x4 top......any tips ?????

You no that's what it is all about  make a little money to pay for supplies and stay active and end up in good health
1 year ago I had two huge blood clots one in upper leg and the other in lung and today I'm perfect. Had back surgery three yrs ago and am perfect

No ....don't have the heart to charge....I used to build various things and put them in a large flea market...the owner always said I priced things too cheap...hard for me to charge for labor on a birdhouse I built out of scraps...I guess I will never get rich at this but it is very good for me to stay active and challenged

check out woodwmith magazine . com they have an video segment for their articles and one of them is building a tile top table.  I haven't built one yet but they certainly make it look easy

I am a retired Policeman, I started woodwork as a way of relaxing, I was taught a lot by my then Father in law who was a Joiner by trade. I have been doing it on and off for thirty years or more, and thoroughly enjoy it. It is mainly a winter activity for me, but will turn my hand to anything.

I use a lot of reclaimed timber, because in Spain, timber is very expensive, which surprised me considering the number of pine forests about!

Jer Poppe,  Just thought I would let you know I am a retired meterologist and also a Missionary and I love my Kreg Jig.  Use it all the time on the missiuon field, especially ih Haiti and The Dominican Republic.

Hello - I'm John from Michigan I am a HVAC commercial contractor -  have been in business 30 years and now have all 3 of sons involved in the company. The plan is they take over and I retire to my steel fabricating and wood working shop.

HELLO ! My name is Arthur , Im 64 yrs. old and retired , my friends call me "Cush". I live in New Hampshire and my day is mostly, trying to be productive, only because I'm confined to a wheelchair . I was a machinist at the Portsmouth Naval Ship Yard and now I would like to keep myself busy buy working with wood !
