Just thought I would start a discussion on woodworkers real jobs. It would be fun to no if there are lots of professional people using Kreg Jig along with people  like myself a retired  construction worker.

I am retired and now have time to get into wood working. Really having fun,
day time Job we don't need no stinkin day time job (retired)
Currently, my day job is "house-spouse". LOL I'm retired at age 55 so I stay at home to take care of the house and children. (We have two; Sean, born 4/23/07 and Isabelle, born 11/2/08.) I love my job and my kids. My wife works and is going to school for her nursing degree. Although I have been interested for some time, I only started getting my shop together a few months ago. (Limited income makes this a slow process.) The only thing I've built so far is some shop jigs and a router table, but I'm looking forward to doing something better as the shop comes together.
Hello,
I am John Kelley a retired University Professor. I have Ph.D's in both foreign languages (Spanish) and Computer science. I have been a long time wood worker and do so as a pass time and a way to relax. I have really enjoyed the use of Pocket Screw jointery. It opens many new options. Like for many of you, this is a never ending learning process and Pocket Jointery has enhanced the learning curve. Again, like many of you, I read all the time to learn more about wood working and will continue to do so.

Kreg has been so helpful in that they always try to answer any questions you may encounter
Retired woodworker.
My passion for woodworking started as an unpaid assistant to my grandfather who was a master cabinet maker.I got into computer programming as a second hobby via the Sinclair ZX81 system and the later The first Apple computer. I became a drilling consultant for a an American petroleum equipment supply company until being retrenched at the age of 50. I have since become involved in the timber renovation and deck building business in a small coastal town in the Eastern Cape province of South Africa. The Kreg Jig has made life a lot easier and profitable. I have recently acquired the Kreg Deck Jig as a birthday present and am waiting for the first deck contract to try it out. The years spent under the guidance of my Grandfather, computer knowledge (ACAD Drawing) and now the Kreg jigs are like a jigsaw puzzle with all the pieces finally falling in place.

I am new to this forum. Good to see such a wide variety of backgrounds/skills here.
I am from Southeast Texas, and I am a Shift Supervisor for ExxonMobil in the Process Division. I have been involved with woodworking, construction, and "building things" for 35+ years. I spent 7 years as a Remodeling Contractor here in Southeast Texas.
I am building a new shop, and converting my old shop into a music studio/music room. It's been awhile since I had full use of my shop and equipment, so I am getting kind of excited about getting so close to having a full function shop back.
Good Afternoon All,

I am retired after 45+ years in a major ductile iroan foundry in the midwest. I have a small wood shop in my basement working on a variey of projects for family, friends and church. Also gives me a place to get away from my wife's passion for cable net work news (or should I say cable network editorials). My table saw makes less noise than some of these jokers
I no the feeling about news noise

I am an accountant, purchaser, delivery person, materials acquisitioner, bookkeeper, advertiser, marketer, planner, designer, measurer, drafter, customer service professional, manufacturer, finisher, social web participant, writer, technical writer... If all that is in place and I get a retainer or down payment, then I take off all those disguises and become a woodworker, cabinet maker, or furniture maker. Some day I might just put LaGrange, KY on the map, who knows?
With that background how do you find time to make saw dust..thanks jj

Free Hand Guard (dust collection)

Hi.  I'm wondering if anyone has used the Woodpecker Free Hand Guard for dust collection on their bench top router table during pattern routing.  How effective is it?  It's adaptable to any router table.  Continue

New Kreg 720Pro

I saw the video Kreg put out for this new jig and had high hopes for it.

I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.

First the docking station is extremely cheap. The plastic is pathetic. A Lego has more…
