Kreg Owners' Community

After searching for a corner unit for our LCD TV and finding nothing that we wanted, I told my wife that I would build one because I had just gotten the Kreg jig. She was a little surprised to hear this since I had never made anything 'furniture like' in my life. Since I decided to build it in a hexagon shape, I had to deal with 22.5 degree angles. This forum helped me to understand how to make them and I was very pleased with the results. I tell people that working with the Kreg jig is like "building from the inside out". You don't see any nail holes on the outside! I have attached a picture of the finished piece and just want to thank all who helped on this forum while building it. Can't wait to start the next project!

That's awesome for a beginner! You must have been a woodworker in a previous life.

So, now that you've got the bug and your wife likes the results... Honey, do this; Honey, do that... The "Honey, Do List" just got huge!

Best of luck to you!
Hi Marty,

Thanks for the nice message. I really do enjoy working with wood. It's kinda like relaxation therapy for me. Yes, the honey do list has gotten bigger but I really don't mind. After all, how often do you have your wife tell you to do something that you really want to do anyway? :)

Nice job! Does the top extend all the way to the corner? Would you be willing to share the specs??
Hi Doug, to answer your question, no, the top does not go all the way to the back. I built this in a hexagon shape for a couple of reasons...1) I have the Bose Cinemate system connected to our TV which is a pretty simple hookup for sound. The two speakers that you see built in to the stand are one part of this system but the other part is a larger subwoofer that sits behind the corner unit and 2) it allows adequate air for cooling.
I will try to get you some specs on it but unfortunately I didn't use any plans to build it. I will take as many measurements as I can and get back to you. Talk to you soon!

Now my wife has added yet another item to my
"You need to build this" list.
Very impressive John. Im in process of drawing some similar to this .The black rectangles in front are they speakers??
John. My wife has just decided we need to get rid of our TV, and huge TV Stand/Entertainment center, and get a larger flat screen TV. Problem so far being that I don't have anything to put one on. This stand you made would be great. Sure wish you had plans put together so a person could make something like it. I've got a Kreg Jig, but have no idea where I'd start. I hate to buy stuff, cause it's always cheaply made, normally some foreign country. I want good ole USofA made. WIsh I had your thought process so I could put one of these together. It looks real nice. Lou. Lowell, MIch.

Free Hand Guard (dust collection)

Hi.  I'm wondering if anyone has used the Woodpecker Free Hand Guard for dust collection on their bench top router table during pattern routing.  How effective is it?  It's adaptable to any router table.  Continue

New Kreg 720Pro

I saw the video Kreg put out for this new jig and had high hopes for it.

I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.

First the docking station is extremely cheap. The plastic is pathetic. A Lego has more…
