Kreg Owners' Community

I just gor my new Kreg Jig and with every new toy I had to play with it and since I also just got my new shop set up I decided to tackle my very first project. I usually do most of my work with a scroll saw so making something besides sawdust was very new to me. I had accumlated quite a few paint bottles which my daughter and I use for our varied hobbies and they were scattered all over the place so came up with this idea. It holds all the paints, the paint brushes, rags, paint thinner and even a battery operated paint stirrer so now no matter where we want to finish our projects we just have to grab the handle on top of the box and everything is ready to go. The project took longer to sand and paint then it did to drill all the holes and to assemble. Am looking foward to completing many more projects in the future with the Keg Jig.

let me say welcome to the club and that this is one real nice project. keep up the good work.
Wow, very impressive for your first Kreg Jig project, Alan! This project is so incredibly functional... could see different versions for storing painting supplies, tools, craft project supplies, sewing supplies, etc. Great job! P.S. Any photos of the assembly/construction process. Many of the members would love to see the finer details of how you put it together!
I am glad you posted this. Welcome to the community. My inspiration is a bit "vain" in nature. I was trying to think of what to build to hold all of my make-up and hair products to replace an aging basket. I think I will use this as my inspiration. Thanks for helping me make my to do list even longer!
It was just a simple box frame. The amazing thing was that it seems a lot stronger than putting screws in at the side of the box and I wasn't worried about splitting the wood. Then I just drilled holes for the dowels to hold the paint and then used pvc pipe to hold the brushes after drilling holes in the wood to hold them. To top it all off I had very little sawdust to clean up afterwards.
