Kreg Owners' Community

Hello, I just purchased my Kreg Jig. Can some of you experienced users tell me how you mounted your jig? Did you mount it to a bench? Or a piece of plywood or something and then clamp that to a bench? Or is there a better way for storage, mounting and using the jig?

Thanks

Rex,
Great question. One good way to have your Kreg Jig ready at the drop of a hat is to mount the jig (using the 4 screw holes in the base) directly to a small piece of plywood which can be quickly thrown on top of your workbench and clamped down to secure. Some owners will also drill small holes in the plywood to hold their drill bit, driver bit, allen wrench, etc. It's up to you to customize as much as you'd like!

It'd be great to see what some of the owners here have come up with! Post some photos, guys!

I mounted my jig to a piece of plywood about 16" x 20" and then I clamp the whole thing down to the workbench when I use it.

I'll take a couple pictures tonight and post them here tomorrow.
Great. Pictures would be greatly appreciated.

Here are a few examples from www.kregtool.com. They don't show the clamp holding the plywood piece to the workbench real well, but you should be able to get the general idea. Hopefully other users will be able to post some photos of their setups as well.

Also, in the first 20 seconds of this video, you can also see a Kreg Jig attached to a plywood piece being clamped down onto a Klamp Table.

Good luck!

Is there a way to mount the Kreg Jig Jr. (R3) onto a base with a plunger clamp??
I don't know what happened to those pictures, they looked OK last night from home... here is a smaller one, maybe it will help.

The plywood is 9" by 18".

I'm with JD, I just clamp it directly to the workbench and move it out of the way when I am not using it. It's never shifted on me yet.
Shopnotes #106 showed an interesting way to have you jig set up. They notched the jig to use it on a T track and then used one of the support guides on each side. Eveything was mounted to a board that would overlay a routertable in a wing of a table saw.
I mounted my K-3 to a piece of plywood that is wide enough for the Kreg tee track I bought to fit alond with two support-stops on each side. I cut the tee track in half rather than notch the jig, I didn't want to weaken it's structure.
This way I can support a wide panel, and stop it if I feel the need for exact hole placement.
I then hang the plywood/assembly up when not in use, and clamp it to the bench when in use!
Richard,
This is a very optimum setup giving you the flexibility to move our Material Support Stops back and forth depending on the stock you're working with. Do you think you'd be able to share some photos of your setup? I'm sure many people here would like to see what you've built. Thanks!

Free Hand Guard (dust collection)

Hi.  I'm wondering if anyone has used the Woodpecker Free Hand Guard for dust collection on their bench top router table during pattern routing.  How effective is it?  It's adaptable to any router table.  Continue

New Kreg 720Pro

I saw the video Kreg put out for this new jig and had high hopes for it.

I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.

First the docking station is extremely cheap. The plastic is pathetic. A Lego has more…
