What makes it worth the extra money to buy the Kreg PRS1040 Precision Router Table System?

Hi Kenneth. First of all, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you as well. Thank you for your interest in Kreg Precision Routing Systems.

The Kreg Precision Benchtop Router Table (https://www.kregtool.com/store/c35/router-table-systems/p141/precis...) offers full-size router table capability in a portable package and retails for a lower price point ($229.99 U.S. dollars). It can be used portably (on the job site, etc.) or as a compact router table in your home shop. It includes a full-featured, heavy-duty aluminum fence, with new locking levers that allow for quick fence adjustment and locking. The fence also has independent sliding faces that provide increased workpiece support. Its precise insert plate will support even the biggest routers with ease, and it features Kreg's new Level-Loc Reducing Rings. And then we have the Kreg Precision Router Table System (https://www.kregtool.com/store/c35/router-table-systems/p139/precis...), which rests on the Kreg Universal Steel Stand. This rugged stand is adjustable from 31" to 36" in height, and is constructed from durable steel. For additional mobility, Kreg casters can be added. The Precision Router Table Fence on this system features a T-square style design that keeps the fence permanently parallel to the miter slot. This automatic squaring lets you fully utilize your miter slot, giving you the ability to make small adjustments easily and accurately. It's made from an incredibly rigid, fully-enclosed aluminum extrusion that helps support large workpieces, while also helping create a full-length vacuum chamber for superior dust collection and a cleaner shop. The fence is also equipped with independent faces. They allow you to vary size of the opening around the bit for optimum workpiece support, and they make it possible for the router table to double as a vertical jointer. You can learn more about this full-sized precision-routing system on our website: https://www.kregtool.com/store/c35/router-table-systems/p139/precis...

If you have any further questions regarding either of our precision-routing systems, feel free to reach out to the Kreg Customer Experience Team directly by calling 800-447-8638 or by emailing customerservice@kregtool.com.

Thanks again for your interest in Kreg products!
