Jens,   nice looking piece, i'm sure the kids will love it.  It's always hard to get dark stain evenly inside a cabinet, looks like you've done a good job.  You are just making the rest of us feel guilty.  I have a hard enough time getting gifts done by Dec 24th, let alone before Thanksgiving.            mandodad

The trick to even stain inside is to stain all parts first and then assemble.I did the center plus 3 steamer trunks in 10  month

another great thing about using pocket holes

Thanks James.

Sometimes I wish I had some wood DVD's but I usally figure it out before disaster strikes

Very nice job, Jens!

I see some dvd's hanging there, are there about "sawing"?  lol

Jens, wanted to say that it would be hard to improve on this piece of furniture.  It looks nice and would be one of those "stop dead in your tracks" pieces as you can not help but notice it's charm.   With the stunning black color and design, it is sure to be a winner in Santa Clause's sleigh too.  I like how you have supported the length of the unit with the middle leg.   You finished early enough that you can make another one before Christmas, just in case Santa Clause wants to be naughty and keep it for himself.  Very nice Jens, both in design and construction and will be a fine addition to a furniture collection.

Thanks for kindness of words. I did however build this same unit last year for wife and myself and stained it Golden oak

Another great job Jens, I'm sure that your daughter and son in-law will be pleased with their Media centre. Well done and thanks again for taking the time to share it with us.

My pleasure to share. I really don't do many larger projects but it is fun to do some now and then. Hard to beleave that Christmas is right ahead of us. Me and my grand daughter share our birthdays together on 16th and then it is Santas day following week

I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.

First the docking station is extremely cheap. The plastic is pathetic. A Lego has more…
