Lap Joints

Howdy All,

Just out of curiosity, does anyone know if the Kreg Jig is able to create a full lap joint (ie a technique for joining two pieces of material by overlapping them)? I'm not really looking to use this type of joint right now. But would like to know for future reference.

Hi Troy - suppose anything is possible, to what end though? If a cross lap, there would be no need to angle the screws. If an end end lap, just glue and clamps should yield a satisfactory joint. The jig would need to be moved somewhat away from the jig setting to keep screws from exiting right at the joint. Not sure a screwed end lap would support much anyway.

Jig settings for 2 ¾ x 1 ½ boards with 30 degree miters?
