I believe the K1 is what you are talking about.... You would think Kreg would display past models in a kind of tribute thing.... Jay has one he posted pix of... cant remember for the life of me what thread it was in, but when he sees this thread, i am sure he will compare notes with you. Sommerfeld tools also makes a all metal pocket hole jig too.... and possibly some others.

You probably have the K2 jig.  I bought one from Amazon.com not more than 5 or 6 years ago.  I don't know if it is discontinued or not but it is the first Kreg jig that I turn to for work with 3/4" stock.  I think it is better built from better material than all the blue plastic jigs though I do use my K2000 for all my 1 1/2" work.

I have one of the same kreg jigs.I think its a k2. I may be wrong. I have had mine over fifteen years and still works great.Im like you I saw this tool and had to have it. I had a handyman business for twenty years and this tool saved me many hours on the job
hi Guys, It is a great tool isn't it?  I bought mine just after they came out on the market and have used it as my main pocket jig for all these years in a cabinet shop and can't wear it out.  Right after I purchased it, I modify it by adding an air clamp to it that I activate with my left knee making it just as fast as the modified jig that was posted recently with the foot operated clamp. So for all these years I have had a super fast clamp that has never failed me and because of the luck I had with it i found no need to purchase the air operated air drill multihole machines that Kreg Tools put out on the market .  It is a K-2 all aluminum and their second model and the best they made.  I have other Kreg jigs of later versions however my main tool is the K-2.
How s it going Larwyn ? For a while I thought I was the only one with the metal Kreg jig ,and like everything else everything is going to cancer causing plastic ! The metal ones only drawback is it is not adjustable to different  thicknesses.
Frank, if you really need a metal one that is adjustable e-mail me.  salemcode@comcast.net

Free Hand Guard (dust collection)

Hi.  I'm wondering if anyone has used the Woodpecker Free Hand Guard for dust collection on their bench top router table during pattern routing.  How effective is it?  It's adaptable to any router table.  Continue

New Kreg 720Pro

I saw the video Kreg put out for this new jig and had high hopes for it.

I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.

First the docking station is extremely cheap. The plastic is pathetic. A Lego has more…
