I just used the drawer rail jig for the first time this week and have a couple of tips to share. The drawer rail jig took a little bit to get used to. In the end, it did it's job and is a phenomenal tool.
Here are my suggestions for first time users:
1. If using this jig with the "euro" style cabinet edge, meaning that there is no face trim installed, make sure to have the LARGE KREG FACE CLAMP on hand. There is really no other way to get the jig to sit right in this style of cabinet. I tried the standard clamp as well as a couple of Irwin quick clamps and neither of those options gave me a square result. I ended up overnighting a large Kreg Face Clamp from Amazon to complete this job.
2. Practice installing a rail on a scratch piece. Until you've handled the Rail Jig in a live install, you really aren't aware of how the rails sit in and how to line them up. I didn't have a major issue with this but I did end up installing the rails about an 1/8th inch off of where I intended. This was not a big deal but could be in some situations.
Overall - LOVE THIS JIG!!!

I saw the video Kreg put out for this new jig and had high hopes for it.
I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.
First the docking station is extremely cheap. The plastic is pathetic. A Lego has more…
