Hi! My name is Trace. After several years as a hobbyist woodworker/ carpenter, I finally went pro a couple of years ago. At first, I was doing mostly handyman type jobs. Now, I'm doing more cabinetry and furniture - new, repair, restore, etc. I've had a K4MS and other pieces for a number of years and am ordering more this week. I live in a remote rural area and rely a lot on online reviews and forums to keep up with trends, techniques and tools. I figured it was time to enter the fray.
Hi, I'm Dave and I live in the Northwest of England (The Lake District). I'm a keen DIYer and now getting into woodwork projects.

So, I need a decent workbench. I'm in the process of building it with 2x4 and Kreg pocket hole jig (K4).

The bench will house my table saw, miter saw and router with storage beneath for all my tools. I've just ordered a Kreg router insert plate and a new Triton MOF001. I'm now deciding on what type of tracks and clamps, miter fence etc. to add to the mdf top (2 x 3/4").

If anyone has any tips, suggestions on tracks and clamps and distances to fit them (including around the router) that would be really helpful.

Hello, everyone!  My name is Jill, and I am an ambitious (beginner) DIY woodworker. I dabble in "artsy" woodcrafting during the holiday season and mostly use a jigsaw to make basic things like indoor/outdoor Christmas decorations, wisdom word placards for my home (like "welcome", "family", "love", etc.), and picture frames for friends and family. I've been amassing basic power tools for years, and am ready to tackle furniture with my Kreg Jig and accessories. I'm hoping to pick up some tips and tricks from the discussion boards and make my first Kreg joint bookshelf for my daughter's comic book collection.  My next project is to make a sofa table for my entryway--which will be my justification for asking Santa to bring me a table saw this year!

Hello from SE TN!

I like to tinker and have been a DIYer for a long time.

I have done some wood working projects here and there and most come out "ok" given the minimal tools that I have available.

Now I want to build a desk to hold a couple computers and monitors to go in my basement office.

I plan to buy a Kreg K4 to use with my desk project.

Now I just need a good plan.

Anyone know if the full plans for the Kreg "student desk" are still available?

I have searched all over and so far have only found a partial plan.

I would appreciate any information anyone has concerning these plans.

Thank you,

Joe

Wow, already had a copy of the plans sent to me.

Thank you!!!!!!

Howdy all,

Gerald is my name and I'm new to the woodworking world.  Hope to gain a lot of information from you all here. I live in the Ozark's of Missouri where there are a lot of hardwood mills around.  Hoping to get the jig soon to ease the pain of joints.

My name is Chris. I'm from Edmonds Wa, about 5 minutes North of Seattle. I'm a novice woodworker. I'm hoping to be able to pick people's brains on the forum for advice. I've built only a few pieces but I'm very proud of them. I've included a pic of a craft table I built my wife about 5 years ago. I saw the table at Pottery Barn and they wanted $1,500 for it. I have a Kreg K4 and K5. I'm also looking to get ideas for other projects to make.

My name is Duff and I worked in a custom woodworking shop for a year about 20 years ago. I have been a nurse for 33 year and am semi-retiring in February. i've truly missed woodworking and have started to gather up tools to I can enjoy my time away from nursing. Hoping to gather a lot of information here.

That's a great looking table Chris! Excellent work.

Pantry slides for heavy application

Recently purchased two 96" tall pantry cabinets that are 23" deep that only came with two adjustable shelves and two fixed, (one at about 55" and one at the very bottom).  Shelf holes in the walls are drilled 2" O.C.  Like most store-bought…Continue

Miter Saw Recommendation 1 Reply

I’m looking to upgrade my miter saw. I’m willing to invest a good amount of money to get one with the precision pocket hole joinery requires. Would anyone like to offer a recommended model?

New Kreg 720Pro

I saw the video Kreg put out for this new jig and had high hopes for it.

I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.

First the docking station is extremely cheap. The plastic is pathetic. A Lego has more…

Not Pleased With Pocket Hole Construction

Several months ago, I purchased the Kreg K4MS so that I could build the Lego Table as outlined on the companion "buildsomething" web site which exclusively uses pocket hole construction.  I have considerable experience with conventional…
