How to put pocket-holes in a furniture leg?

I just bought a Kreg jig and to learn how to use it I was building an outdoor table.  The t.  op is an old wooden spool.  So anyway I build a box frame to attach legs too.  So far I understand how to attach 2 boards at a right angle to each other.  Then I was going to attach simple 2 X 4 boards in the corner of the box for legs.  Cannot for the life of me figure out where to put the holes.  Plus the box frame was made of 1 X 4 and the legs are about 2 X 4  Hope the question makes sense.  If not ask and I will try to do better.

I'm not 100% sure if I'm answering your question correctly here, but traditionally Kreg leg joints are done with an apron type method... by butting the aprons up against the leg and joining drilling in through the apron itself, you'll get a much stronger result. Take a look at this video and see if that clears everything up.

Thank you. Actually I put the legs on wrong. Shows how little I know. Talk about a beginner. The rails should be attached to the legs. I used the rails to form a box and then tried to attach the leg. So I learned something today. I can go home now. Thanks a lot.

Hi Beth.
You don't have to use pocket holes for every joint on a project. Now that you've got the box frame made, you could stand the end of a leg inside each corner and screw through the frame into it from two sides. This would be as strong (or stronger) than pocket hole joints, and would save you dismantling what you've already done. However, the screw heads would be exposed unless you counterbored and filled them. Also, the table design wouldn't be as stylish as attaching the ends of the rails to the legs rather than to each other.
