How to make glass panel doors (a how to)

Here are a few photos of how to make glass doors with your router table (with a rail and stile router bit set).  You could even use the same technique on the table saw making tongue and groove. I always thought that glass doors were tricky and involved different cutters for your shaper/router, but this isn't the case.  I hope this helps anyone interested in making glass front doors.  Oh, this may also look like a weak joint, but there is a lot of area for glue and the joints are very strong.

After running your material with your stick bit, you remove the bottom portion of the groove on your table saw so your material looks like what is pictured at the bottom of the photo.

With your coping bit installed (if your bit is a molded 1 piece this won't work, I use bits from Infinity tools), remove the top cutter, leave the bearing and install the nut back.

This is what your cope cuts will look like with the top cutter removed.

The coped end then fits onto your stile and creates a perfect recess to receive a glass panel.
