This letter is open to any or all. I'm joining a 1/2" to 1/2" boards. The plans call for a 3/4" screw. I've set the drill and guide to 1/2" but when I put the screw in in only protrudes 3/16" out the end, no way far enough to screw into the other board. I've tried everything I can think of other than using a longer screw but the plans and the Kreg guide says it isn't needed. Any advice would be appreciated.....thx....Mike

Hi Mike - Are you talking about it protrucing from the end of the board or the head still out of the pocket?

You could adjust the stop collar a little to get a little more penetration into the stock being attached. 1/2" stock sometimes takes some playing around with the settings.

The setting on the jig itself determines how close to the edge of the stock the screw will exit... the higher the setting the further from the jig the screw will exit. The setting on the stop collar adjusts the depth of the pocket and the amount of penetration for any given length of screw.

With the microjig, you must use pan head screws, washer heads won't fit in the pocket. 3/4" screws are only available in fine thread.
