Hi Everyone,
I appreciate all the threads on the community. I've got to use this more, you guys are great.
I got my hands on some beautiful ambrosia poplar, 2 inches thick, that I want to join for a desk/counter top. Using the 2.5 inch screws and deepest pocket hole setting on my Kreg Jig - this ok? I've edged joined before with good success, but only with 3/4 inch material.
All the best,
Brian

If you have an offcut I would do a test hole so you can check you not going to go through the top.
Depending on your jig you may be able to mark the end grain to check the depth that way.
Perfect, thank you. I figured glue 'em and screw 'em and let the glue set would be my best bet.

Essentially when all is said and done it is the glued up joint that is the main event while the screws initially act as an “in place clamp” while the glue sets up. Purchase good quality glue such as titebondIII and utilize proper clamping at the onset you should experience no problems. The pocket hole screws while certAinly do assist in connection of the end boards its the glue that does all the heavy lifting. You should be fine with the size screw you are referring too
Thank you, sir.

Hi. I'm wondering if anyone has used the Woodpecker Free Hand Guard for dust collection on their bench top router table during pattern routing. How effective is it? It's adaptable to any router table. Continue

I saw the video Kreg put out for this new jig and had high hopes for it.
I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.
First the docking station is extremely cheap. The plastic is pathetic. A Lego has more…
