Drill for pocket hole screws

I was able to just recently get started building some stuff.  Had my kreg jig about a year before I was able to really use it.  My other projects with it has been few and far between.  I built a kitchen island and noticed that the big 18v drill i had ran into problems with me final assembly.   Are the 12v lithium drills good for installing the pocket screws.  I got a Milwaukee corded drill and love it for drilling the pocket holes because the 18v didnt make clean holes and battery died pretty fast.  I think the 12v drills would be fine, and the smaller foot print would come in handy when me and a drill is trying to work together.

I've been using the Milwaukee M12 drill-driver, since it came on the market.

GREAT tool---it works EXCELLENT for driving screws.

Nice and compact---light weight---has plenty of driving torque---

dials down to a very low torque setting for small screws requiring light torque setting---

it'll drive screws all day long on a single fully charged battery. 

The compact size fits nicely in a shop apron or holster.

If you need to get into close quarters, I use the right-angle attachment tool---

it snaps into the quick-change chuck on the M12.

Also, the M12 works nicely for drilling small objects, using small dia bits.

I use the small Milwaukee drill chuck, that snaps into the quick-change 1/4" hex chuck.

If you have a shop vac with the "auto" on feature, it works real nice with corded drills -- every time you drill a hole, the vac comes on, that is of course if you have the vacuum attachment.

Like Ken said, the small 12v drivers (not impact type) are best for driving pocket screws.  You need the torque limiting adjustment to prevent over-driving the screws.

I dont have the auto feature.  But i have been looking at an autoswitch, I think that is what they are called.  I figured I could hook that up to corded drill and miter saw.
