On woodsmith and other places they use double backed tape to hold things. Any recommendations on brands and where do you buy yours or any double back carpet tape will it work ?

I use it to Japanese tape called itchibon, it is used for holding parts on paint jigs and very strong and very effective. You might want to try and auto parts supplier below: our town of brutal annoyed A&B Auto. I became familiar with it at my last employment. It works very well. It removes without leaving residue. Not sure if a search on the web would find it or not. Possibility of a Japanese industrial supply house here in the United States may carry this. My supply is running pretty short so I may be looking for some myself. I have used double-sided carpeted and it worked okay, but the Japanese tape again leave no residue. Nothing to interfere with your finishes.
