Kreg Owners' Community

I just picked up a Kreg Foreman and want to know if anyone has built a dedicated workbench or cart for the Kreg Foreman.  I'm thinking of making something that has a drop in spot for the Foreman that leaves the top of the Foreman even with the rest of the bench so that there will be some extra real estate to the right and left.  Maybe even a hinged support in the front.

I'm trying to work out something that will make it easier to put pocket holes in cabinet panels.

If you know of projects like this, links would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

RC

Hello RC,

I have been a long time user of the Kreg Master jig etc and recently mooved up to the Pneumatic Kreg Foreman.  Within the last couple years I have aquired a few Festools products and more specifically to you question is the Festool MFT tables.  The Kreg foreman work surface is the same hieght as the MFT.  I had previously built a box and mounted the Kreg Master Jig to the box at a height the same as the MFT.  However, the length of two MFT left room for the Master inbetwenn on a 8' sheet of plywood.  The Kreg foreman is wider of course so I had to build an extension to my table.  In the pics you can see I have two different table heights.  I am 6'4" and I elevated my table saw to a height I like and then built a outflow table/ workbench to the same height.  When I decided to buy the MFT I wanted a work bench that would be the same heght as the other tables with the MFT on top.  I wanted the MFT to be easily detached to take to a job site etc.  I made some cleats that are the same size as the rubber bumpers on the bottom of the MFT.  They are vscrewd to the top of the tables once the tables were perfectly aligned.  To align them I used the Qwas Dogs and the Track saw rail or a long straight edge.  The Foreman can be slid back and forth between the two MFTs depending on the size of project being worked on.  I also liked the idea of the lower table height on the second bench.  When not using the MFTs I can easily remove them and use the lower table as an assembly table for cabinets etc since it is a lower height.  I know the MFTs are not cheap but I really love working with them, and they work hand in hand with Kreg jigs and tools for clamping and holding work pieces etc.  I know it isnt exactly what you were asking for but thought you might like the idea.  Sorry for the clutter in the pics but I wanted to get the pics up ASAP.  I just added the extension to the table two days ago.  In the future I would just build the table longer than 8' but as I nsaid before I started with the Kreg Master Jig etc.

Good Luck

Brad...

Thanks Brad!  This is sort of what I was looking to do.  It actually does what I need it to do, I just hadn't thought of using the MFT like that.  Genius!

I have one of the original mft's and one new one.  Now I'm thinking about doing something that solves some other issues.  Like maybe a rolling cart that puts the old mft at the same height as the MFT3 and then build a "trough" that will fit the Foreman and slide in between the two mft's.

Thanks for the help.

RC

Glad I could help.  Post some pics when you are done.  Take care
