k4 system handle stuck in down position

The handle on my k4 system is stuck and I am wondering how I get it unstuck? Has anyone else had this problem before? Not exactly sure what I did to get it stuck but it is stuck all the way in the down position and I (please excuse the phrasing) cant get it back up to actually clamp stuff down. Any help offered would be greatly appreciated

My only thought would be is that the shaft has enough play, that it may be binding a bit. Is it possible there may be some rust on the shaft? I would try a little WD40, and let it sit few moments. See if that works.

No rust it is brand new.

Have you tried phoning the kreg rep he will help you or at least point you in the right direction to get help.
