Hi All ! !
My name is Max Shaver Jr. I'm in the foothills of North Carolina, near Hickory. Been interestd woodworking since I was young and my grandpa clamped a 2x4 in a vice, and showed me how to use his draw knife. I spent 10 years in the worlds finest NAVY, 2 of which I worked in the carpenters shop, in Charleston, SC . I later ran the Woodworking Hobby Shop at the Air Force Base in Charleston, on weekends. My wife and I are in the process of moving into a house we just closed on, Monday before Christmas. If we can only catch a break from the snow, and the guy I hired to repair my hardwood floors. Moving this weekend, the snow and the floor man, be D... ! ! ! My wife gave me a Kreg Jig Master System for Christmas, so here I am ! Going to doing lots of remodeling and up grading, so hopefuly the Kreg will come in handy.
Hello. My name is Phil and I live in Australia. I am semi-retired and build wooden projects in my spare time. Never tried pocket hole joinery before but am about to find out how we go with the Kreg Jig. Hopefully it will save me time and improve joint accuracy/strength/appearance.
I am now looking for an accurate and precise manual mitre saw. I have always used an old mitre box and tenon saw and now need more precision and options. The best (?) I have found in Australia is a Nobex Champion NBX-80804 thru Carba-Tec. Cost around A$287.
Anybody used this unit, or got a better suggestion?

My name is Larry Wimberly. I am a part-time minister, full-time music teacher, and OK beginning woodworker. My deceased father-in-law had a cabinet shop for 50+ years. I got to work summers with him for about 10 years where I learned very much from him. The shop is long gone, but my son-in-law has a third garage he's not using. He and I have set up a nice little shop with just a Craftsman table saw, a miter saw, and some small sanders, etc.
My first major project was for my other daughter (bookcase type cabinet to fill a niche in her foyer.) It turned out alright. I just completed a refinish on a cradle my F-I-L built for my daughters in '83. It will be used for my first granddaughter next month. Then, on to the baby bed my daughters used. (I checked for recalls...it's safe!)
I want to build a work bench and some sort of outflow table for my table saw. They must be mobile with levelers on each leg. If anyone has suggestions, tips, or plans for a "one bay garage shop" layout, give me a shout.
Well, my name is Sandy Lee and my husband, Larry, bought my Kreg jig for Christmas. I am semi retired and have always wanted to try new things and learn "how to" things. larry and I have done alot of things over the years, but not woodworking. We have built shelves and sheds and shops, but no woodwork like I want to do. He prefers working with metal (welding). Anyway, we livi in SSE Mississippi. We like country living and I have lots of projects in mind for my new Kreg jig. Glad to be in a community with others with similar interest.
Hello my name is Laura and I received my Kreg Jig for Christmas. I haven't use it yet but I plan to soon. I have built some storage ottomans, a storage bench, a few cornice boxes for my windows and a daybed for my granddaughters room. All of these items were built with particle board and EVERYTHING was glued and screwed and then upholstered so all my imperfections have been concealed! :) Can't wait to actually build something that won't be disquised!! I think my first project may be a wall cabinet for my kitchen. I wish it wasn't so cold, I really don't have a warm place to work. Maybe I'll just set up my new B&D Workmate bench in the kitchen and vacuum up the saw dust when I'm done!!!
Hey Laura, welcome again, if you have to work in your "kitchen", depending on what type of saw you will be using, see if it has a circular dust port, if it does, hook a shop vac up to it and let it do the "vacuuming". I too work in my garage and not only is it absolutely frigid, we also just got 8 inches of snow making it even colder!!!
Stay warm and enjoy your new jig; it is so much better than the old glue and screw method:-) Stop back by for a chat anytime!

Hello I am 59 YO live in Morningside QLD (thats in AUS for the rest of the world) enjoy building wood items.
I have a small work area in the drive way and garage. Make heaps of sawdust when I am on a roll, otherwise just repair items for locals, and "play about" when I see an interesting process or project.
Some people collect all sorts of items, I collect wood and turn them into something really neat, and drive my four boys mad with boxes I make from scrap.

Hi All.....I have the 35mm Kreg Jig hinge drill guide. The guide is great for 35mm Hinge Cups, but I have a speciality 40MM hinge cup to drill.Has anyone adapted the Kreg guide to work with 40mm Forsner drill bits? Or have a guide that works…Continue

I saw the video Kreg put out for this new jig and had high hopes for it.
I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.
First the docking station is extremely cheap. The plastic is pathetic. A Lego has more…

Several months ago, I purchased the Kreg K4MS so that I could build the Lego Table as outlined on the companion "buildsomething" web site which exclusively uses pocket hole construction. I have considerable experience with conventional…
