Domingo, I too am from the Island.  You will like the Kreg jig... can make anything with this thing.

gotta say as a newbie in this wood working stuff (newbie in the fact I am now starting to make things that are good looking rather than utillitarian) I got the hang of the kreg thing after a few passes with scraps and reading on this forum.  Really is a nice set up!  I did some mitered and square end joinery for the final podium for my grandkids elementary school

Hello, My name is Bill. I live in Middle Tennessee.  I have been doing woodworking for about 20 years. Mostly for fun, bird houses, bird feeders and such. Lately I have been working on larger projects. Cabinets for the house, book shelves and might try a little furniture making soon. I have had my Kreg Jig for about 6months now and have found that it makes joints alot easier then biscuit joints.

Hey all

My name is Murray Thompson.  I live in VA.  The most I have ever done with wood working has been restoring/finishing our older dressers and headboards.  I guess I joined this community because I can get to INTO some things "I tend to buy more than what I require to do a job" and hope to get some direction from others more knowledgeable than myself.  Most of all I have ideas just jumping around in my head but no one to bounce them off of... lately I have had a yearning to build a cabinet to sit my gaming PC so I can get it up off the floor.  I am always tinkering with it so I would like it to be at Eye level. I want to stay off the floor.. ;-)  I even thought about trying to add a Lazy Susan to the top so I can turn the PC towards me when I work.   I was hoping to find some cool projects for this but havent seen any.  I figure that I could use one side of the Kreg student desk as a foot print and make it a little bigger to hod my PC, which weighs about 90lbs (Its a monster).  Well I could go on, but I think this is probably not the right area for this.  Im off to check out the tips for beginners and welcome any and all ideas and insight!

Hello, my name is Luis, I live in Orange County, California.  I've always enjoyed working with wood but for various reasons I have not done alot of it.  I enjoy working on wood, right now as a small job for one of my wife's clients, I am adding a bench to a breakfast nook.  I learn quite a bit online and one of the things that I just picked up on is bending wood, the bench seat top has a curve and since I am placing a trim instead of using a router, I needed to curve the trim piece and last night I was able to do this  Anyway, I just want to say "thanks" to all of your people, thank you for sharing your experience and ideas to people like me, I guess I've always been fond of "picking people's brains."  Thank you.

My name is Michel Duquet

I,m a 57 year old marine surveyor, former custom boatbuilder from Chateauguay, Quebec. Reired from boatbuilding in '04. Enough dust and epoxy fumes!

I sail a 32' sailboat on Lake champlain, NY. the nature of my present occupation leaves me a lot of free time between november and april. Built myself a nice cozy little workshop 20' X 22' behind the house.

I'm now converting to some cabinet making and general woodworking, mainly for my own use but who knows...

I also take on small boat related jobs such as cabin floor refinishing and rudder repair and fabrication.

I don't own a jig yet but I recently puchased a Kreg band saw fence, resaw guide and routeer table insert plate for mounting my Hitachi MV12 3 1/4 hp plunge router. Currently working on tne fence.

My latest completed small project is a Mission/Arts and craft style headboard using only dowels for assembly.

Upcoming projects include a custom workstation for my dauther and an Arts and Crafts style dinig table.

Can't take up too much as april comes i shall resume my professionnal activities of surveying small craft.
