Hello, great site. Been doing alot of reading and some great ideas...I have done some carpentry and trim, ect but never any furniture so I am a little new at this. I have the Kreg Jr, the face clamp and 90* clamp.
I am going to build a cornhole set for BIL for Christmas and have a few questions. If I didnt want to paint it, what wood would you recommend that is stainable and durable? I had planned on 1/2-3/4 plywood for top and 1x3 or 1x4 skirting. I saw in one of the cornhole posts that it almost looked like someone used laminate flooring or other plank material. Any ideas on what that was?
Can I make these w/ mitered corners, or is it better to butt them flush using the Kreg Jig?
I read somewhere on here about using just 1 1/4" screws and not needing the assortment. Can someone explain this?
I'll take any other tips, tricks, ideas, ect. I'm sure I'll have a few more questions before long. Thanks in advance!

you can miter the corners but the cuts have to be perfect, otherwise you'll have gaps to fill. Also 1 1/4" is for 3/4" wood, if you are using 1/2" use 1", also corse thread is for soft wood and fine thread is for hard wood. I did find that you can use corse if the pocket hole is in the soft wood when combining soft and hard woods.

I saw the video Kreg put out for this new jig and had high hopes for it.
I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.
First the docking station is extremely cheap. The plastic is pathetic. A Lego has more…
