Pocket holes in tight places?

Hello all!
I am new to woodworking and also new to this forum.
My second Kreg project was some basement storage cubbies.  During assembly I discovered some of the pocket holes I could not get to with my drill. I managed to rig up the pocket hole driver with a socket wrench and that worked but was slow going.  
Are there any good tips on getting into small tight places?

You might look into a eight angle drill,But will it pay for itself I don't no.Depends how often you get into tight spots.

i have a black and decker that my wife got me a few years ago, this was the closest that i could find. if not a 90 degree drill make work for you also. not sure how tight of a space you are looking to get into

I took the approach you are at first. 1/4" socket driver. What a PITA.

My honey bought me a Milwaukee M12 Right angle driver.

Turned driving 6 Kreg screws to tie down the base of a cabinet from a 30 minute to a 3 minute job. No neck pain.

Craftsman has a new right angle impact driver. Only 12 volt but when you need it, you need it.
This plus a short square drive bit gets you in close quarters.

I bought the 90 deg. attachment Greg is talking about to add face frames to upper cabinets 12" deep. It was very cumbersome to work with and having to do 15 cabinets, 12 screws each, was more time than I wanted to spend. I bought the Craftsman right angle driver Jim is talking about and made the job a snap. You can get into tighter spots with the right angle driver than the 90 deg. attachment, and is easier to handle. Even though I have not used it, the Milwaukee M12 right angle Thomas is talking about is basically the same thing and would work the same.

Been there done that. 30 screws with a socket set. It took me forever. I believe Thomas has it right. More tools = better! I went out and bought a Ridgid 12V cordless right angle driver and have never looked back. It is worth the money.

I bought a close quarters drill from harbor freight for about 25.00 and it works great. If I was going to drill alot of screws in a close quarter situation i would have spent more money on a higher quality drill but for a drill I might use every now and then it works just fine

If you don't want to invest the money to buy a right angle drill, you might consider renting one. Lee

Hi,

I use a short driver bit with a flexible extension and a 7.6 Volt variable speed screw driver, giving a right approach and control using both hands. Any tighter a right angle head might work. Good Luck.
