anyone built console tables before? im looking up plans to make one for the foyer.

looking for suggestions on the HEIGHT --- is there a common height for them?

ive been seeing measurements of 30in like a desk height or should it be around 35in like kitchen counters? bottomline, which looks better? thanks.

what is a console table
something like this http://bit.ly/cn5ZTQ
check out woodbin.com and click on reference they say a console table should be 28'' high 48 to 54'' long and 16to 18'' deep but by your pictures it looks like either a hallway or entry table and they say they should be 34to 36'' tall 36 to 72'' long and 16 to20'' deep, hope this helps
thank you for the suggestion.
i might be going for something in between the 28" mention and 30".
