Hi,

I am working on building a home entertainment unit.  My main material is 3/4 and my backing is 1/2.  I am planning all of my joints Joining 3/4 to 1/2. On the jig I set for 3/4 then use screws for 1/2 correct?

Glenn, what you are doing is correct. You always want to set your jig for the thickness of material you are drilling into, which is 3/4" in this case. And then use screws for whatever thickness of material you are screwing into, which is 1/2" in this case. Since 1/2"-thick plywood is never quite 1/2"-thick, you may want to test it out on a piece of scrap plywood before you drive a screw into the material you are using for your project.

Great thanks for clearing that up for me.

This is my first project using the Kreg Jig and I am really impressed.  When I am finished I will submit a photo.

We are glad to be of help, Glenn. And we can't wait to see the finished project!

For the 1/2" backing would you use a 1" screw through the 3/4 ply into the half? I'm making a similar unit

Free Hand Guard (dust collection)

Hi.  I'm wondering if anyone has used the Woodpecker Free Hand Guard for dust collection on their bench top router table during pattern routing.  How effective is it?  It's adaptable to any router table.  Continue

New Kreg 720Pro

I saw the video Kreg put out for this new jig and had high hopes for it.

I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.

First the docking station is extremely cheap. The plastic is pathetic. A Lego has more…
