Hi, my name is Kimbra, my husband Randy and I found this site while planning for building a woodshop this spring.   There are plenty of fix it jobs waiting for us to tackle after the shop is built, we are putting up a 30 by 40 metal building that will be insulated and finished inside.    We have the option of adding a loft area with stairs and would like a bathroom/ kitchenette on one end.

We live in SE Kansas on a farm/ranch where we raise cattle, crops and hay. I have taken a few woodworking classes and like to build projects that I can use or diy home improvement for us or our grown up kids.

Does anyone have any great advice for us before we dig the concrete foundation?  Anything you would do before building a woodshop?  We appreciate your response and sharing your ideas.

Hello, My name is Shawn and I live in Florida. I usually don't work with wood, as I am a welder/Fabricator by trade. I always am up to learn new things especially when it can save me money in the end. I usually do most everything myself and it always seems to work out for me, I'm not a know it all , I just  do my research before jumping into things. So don't be surprised if I try to pick your brain .

Hello, My name is Steve from Shreveport, LA. Retired from Air Force and just getting into building more detailed pieces. I used the pocket hole on a bed side table/book shelf (Pic attached)  for first time. I think it turned out fairly well for my first piece other than picnic table type stuff. looking forward  to getting more experience.  I used a water based stain on this piece, but do not recommend it. It was very unforgiving as it set up way too fast and the piece became splotchy - that is why I decided to do a little antiquing with a plastic Wal-Mart bag that my son, the artist, taught me.

I am now look for some plans for about  36-42" high storage unit that will have a flat top and two lower shelves to insert baskets for storage. my wife wants one for our bedroom. please respond if you know of any plans available.

Hi, my name is Carlo and I live in the upstate of South Carolina. I just purchase my Kreg K4 jig kit and can't wait to try it. I am sure I'll need a lot of support along the way for some of the projects I want to start (building a table for my saw, a double sink bathroom cabinet and eventually redo my entire kitchen cabinets).

Hi, my name is James and I live in Austin Texas. I really have enjoyed my Kreg Jig and have done a few projects with it. I'm looking forward to finding more ideas on this site.

Hi, my name is Alex and I live in Melbourne, Victoria.  I have been doing handyman stuff since the seventies slowly getting more adventurous!  I work on the principle that if I can do a piece of work rather than get someone in then I should spend the savings on buying decent tools.  Getting my first Kreg Jig (the Jr) was an eye opener on what could be done easily in joinery and I have now upgraded to the K4.
