Kreg Owners' Community

Hi Kreg Friends,

My friend is starting a business doing chalk lettering and has asked me to help her with construction of two 8x4 boards (see below).  She uses masonite painted with chalkboard paint to draw on.  She wants the two 4x8 pieces to be freestanding using some sort of attached stand/legs.  Also, she wants them to be attached in the center, sturdy and pulled tightly together so when she arrives at a party/wedding she won't be worried about them bending or falling apart.

My idea was to make a frame to support the two 4x8 peices of masonite, using the kreg jig, and use hinges to make legs for it to stand up.  This is as far as I've gotten.

Any ideas?

BTW here is her website, she is pretty awesome at what she does!

I would think that you would want a frame behind each masonite board. This would give the boards some support. You could use a some latches in the center to hold the pieces together. That would make it easy to disassemble and reassemble.
