Hello all, My name is Larry and I live in NE Texas.  I have been using the Kreg Jr jig for a few years now with my house flipping side business and recently picked up the Master System. I have been very happy with the quaility of the Kreg Jigs in the past and can not wait to use the new ones.  One of my own home projects is to build custom closet for my wife and will be using the new Jigs.

Brian,

Welcome.

Hi there,

I spend my days creatively combining the role of wife, mother, teacher, and dental office helper. It's an adventure, and there are more than a handful of want-to-do-that's on the list. I'm hopeful to find tips and advice about using the Kreg Jig for joinery and putting together projects spanning a range of uses greater than my interests - and that's saying a great deal. ;) My Papaw was a carpenter, so I come from a line of woodworkers and unofficial artists. I don't really have many tools, and hope to get some advice on the best Kreg with which to start.

Having said that, thanks for participating in this forum. It's great to have a site to which people contribute and help each other as they all strive for creating cool things. [Did I mention I'm a cheeseball too?]

Since I joined I have been covered up in SPAM....

Hi, My name is Etay from New Jersey - iv been working with hood as a hobby for some years now,  but only really started working with kreg jig for joinery in the past 4 months - i think its one of the most amazing things ever!!

My first project was an oak cutting board and now i am going for olive-wood counter tops :)

Hello, my name is Frank. I live in LA, Lower Alabama. I am a bit of a novis at woodworking. I have built things for my family and freinds. I have found that the plans onlne are very helpful. My wife thinks I should do it to make money, but I do it for just the sheer enjoyment of making something.

Hi Frank, I was amused at your reference to "LA". I am a novice also but am an expert at cutting my thumb on the table saw. I want to buy a Sawstop but the price is objectionable to me. The seemingly practical argument to this would be "how much is your thumb worth?" The more pragmatic reply would be "I need to pay my bills and also eat". I have taken all practical due measures to insure this does not happen again.

But thanks for the email, welcome to the exciting and satisfying world of wood working and be careful.

BTW I live in LM - lower Michigan. Am 65, married and we have a 16 year old daughter. We had a blood test on her and discovered she is actually from Neptune...as I suspected, although I thought it was Mars. My bad. We are a happy family.

You're having some bad weather down there. Hope you are safe and well.

Hi all, my name is Debbie and I live in Atikokan, Ontario. I recently bought myself the  kreg jig kit (M4) and am very excited to start building stuff. I have never used a pocket hole , nor have I ever made anything that actually came out square.  I have good intentions and know what I'd "like" it to look like, but that remains a work in progress. I am very good at making a mess and have a rather nice pile of sacrificial wood that didn't quite "measure: up to its original plan.

I do plan to change that, and am very much looking forward to picking your brains on what is what in the yard of sawdust and splinters.

I firmly believe there is no such thing as a stupid question, but its quite possible for me to ask something that is probably self explanatory to most of you....just not me. A carpenter I am not, but I do want to learn.

See ya's all on the boards,

Debbie.

Hi Debbie, just remember every time you miscut a peice of wood you only created more lumber for a smaller project. If it wasn't for the Kreg jig I would never have been this involved in wood working. If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask on this site, there are so many people that are more than to willing to help

Hi - I would like to welcome you both to the community.

IMHO, one of the major keys to successful pocket hole joinery, is the ability to make your cuts square and true. The screws pull the mating pieces up tightly together so even a slight angle can result in a significant error.
