Hello!

I am Phillip Rockafellow from central New Jersey.  I am a beginner in building with wood with more time on my hands now, since I am now retired from the business world.

I built a rectangular wooded ottoman with a padded top and had trouble getting the corners of the frame to look good.  I have been seeing the infomercials for the Kreg Jig for some time.  Thus,  I decided I wanted one so that I could use it for some future projects.

I also got the HD Jig, which I plan on using to rebuild a wooded box seat on my outdoor deck.

I joined the community to tips, ideas and plans that may help me.

Welcome Phillip, from one retiree to another!!!

My name is Martin and I live in Northern Indiana. I like tinkering with wood but don't live anywhere that I can put in a shop so I bought the Kreg jig and thought it would be nice to build some basic furniture. That is as long as the weather is nice enough to be working outside.

Hello from Cleveland, OH. I used a kreg Mini to build an awesome corner bridge to mount my 50" plasma screen. My next project is a mantel for my electric fireplace insert and matching media cases. Currently when not at my 9 to 5-- I'm setting up a shop in my garage/basement. I've collected hand and power tools for years. I'm looking forward to learning how to use them.

Welcome Martin,

Don't be put off by not having a workshop, mine is the driveway of the garage and i make some items that others would think came from a dedicated shop.

The wheather dictates what I can do some times its frustrating rain too cold other times its great to be able to work outside.

Having lots of cast iron work platforms the water plays havoc with me if I am not alert.

Enjoy the website lots to see lots to learn lots to just look at for an inspiration.

LOL

My shop comes out of my Storage Shed to the lawn.  (My wife does not like the sawdust in the shed.)

This makes me a fair weather carpenter.  Fortunately, I usually use hand tools so they are smaller and used less electricity.

I'm Adam, I'm a beginning wood worker and I live in Knoxville, tn ( home of the struggling vols). I got a kreg system for Christmas from my wife as I knew it was a must for the bunk bed build I'm doing for my son.

What a coincidence. I live in Knoxville il

That's great maybe I can rack your wisdom when it comes to best places to purchase stuff around town (wood, tools, etc.). I'm such a newby I'm in the collect everything I think I need phase (tools wise).
To start with, what do use for pocket screws, do you only use kreg, or do you have another choice, bout to run out on my first build and will need more.

My name is Chris and I live about 60 miles north of New York City. I have only recently started woodworking and so an ad for the Kreg jig and was fascinated. I am close to completing my first project ( a workbench) and hope to post some pictures once completed.

Thanks
