Hey guys:

My name is Chuck , I live in Webster, Texas. Now that I'm retired I have the time to do some serious woodworking. I have about half of my garage dedicated to using Kreg Joinery. This is something that I am really looking forward to. I'm starting with the obvious....a work bench from the Kreg plans. Looks fairly cut and dry. After that I need to make a table for my compound mitre saw. After this I will be ready to get started on my first project....a coffee table hopefully from the Kreg plans. I'm sure there will be questions in the beginning . I hope you'll bear with me. Looking forward to talking to each and every one of you. Have a great day.

Chuck

Hey Gary:

My name is Chuck Ford and I noticed you are from East Texas. I'm in Webster, Texas. Just how far east are you? Jut a thought. Maybe we can help each other out from time to time. Have a great day.

Hello, My name is Gary and I live in East TX. I have been doing woodwork off and on over the years and have decided it is time to get back into it. I have not done much pocket hole joinery, always found it to difficult. Only recently purchased the Kreg Jig and ready to get started with it.

Hello Everyone and Happy New Year! My name is George and I live and have a small woodshop in Franklin, MA (@30 mi. SW of Boston). My most recent project was building kitchen cabinets. I used the Kreg jig to build the carcasses and face frames. The pocketscrew technology is a real timesaver and makes very strong joints. I found it almost eliminated the need for clamps (my clamps are all the heavy iron pipe type). One of the best tools I bought over the past 35 years.

Hello. I am Bill and I live in Central Maryland. I have been a woodworker for over 55 years. I have worked as a framing carpenter and a trim carpenter. I retired as a minister in the Christian faith two years ago and have more time now for cabinet making, which I am doing as an amature now. Mostly around our home. Have recently built some additional kitchen cabinets for the wife to enjoy.

I joined mostly because she just gave me a new Kreg Master set. I ahve had and used the old style Kreg Jig for about 18 years and have given them as gifts to my son and some close friends. It is one of my best friends in the shop, along with the router (another favitore).

I look forward to learning what goes on in one of these on line "communities". I ahve done my best to stay away from the internet social sites. I joined facabook because that became the only way I could stay in toouch with the granddaughter. That worked pretty well, so I decided to give this a try.

Happy New Year to all my fellow woodworkers. May the Lord bless you richly in the new year.

Bill

Hello Kreg Users,

I am Lloyd Ballinger and retired from Gallaudet University in DC. I moved from Maryland to Rochester,Minn. I purchase a home with attached 2 car garage. I converted from 2 car garage to woodwork shop for my retirement hobby. I built some woodwork shop equipments. I purchased Kreg Jig Master kit and plan to build more projects with using it. I plan to purchase Kreg Precision Measuring system for my mitre saw station that I work now. I will share with you what project I using with Kreg kit.. Chat more later.. Look forward to browse more about Kreg and your projects that you post..

We get guys, (mostly guys) who sign up here, announce themselves, and then disappear...at least from this forum. I would like to see posts of new ways to use the Kreg system.

I gutted my kitchen to the studs several years ago and rebuilt it completely.

http://www.mysanantonio.com/default/article/Cooks-Cocinas-Blake-Ols...

The project would have been significantly easier had I been using the Kreg system.

My use of Kreg now is in furniture repair and I use it both as a pocket screw and because it is a really efficient fastener in more prosaic situations. It is about the lowest profile screw you can find....Spax comes close...and it requires the least pre-drilling.

I really wish I had photographed the multitude of things I have repaired with Kreg screws but that is a lament and not a reality. I will do better in the future.

Blake

Hey Lloyd!  Gallaudet, huh?  You must be Deaf.  I've been teaching Deaf kids for the past 27 years, mostly here in Georgia.  I also have a 2-car that is half garage and half workshop, and I use my Kreg jig for almost every project I do.  My current thing is building kids' table and chair sets and selling them on Craiglist.  I've built and sold 8 sets since November.  Yesterday I built a VERY EASY folding kids' beach chair.  I get most of my plans from Ana White's site.  She's got TONS of free plans that are easy to follow, and she uses the jig with a lot of her stuff.

Howdy All. My name is Chris and I live in Southern Ohio. I have been woodworking since I was a small child by my fathers side, building mostly home project, and continue today to teach the art to my two boys. My 4 year old already shows great potential with his first project (a layered cross). I do custom woodworking and antique restoration as a hobby and for other people when they ask. I am a proud owner of several Kreg items, including the Kreg Jig and the Rip Cut, which I use on a regular basis. I have already been asked to build a deck this coming summer so I am sure that I will invest in the Deck Jig as well when the time comes.

Thank you for allowing me to be part of this site and share my creations with you.

JMy name is Steve and I live in Independence, Iowa. I am retired from my 'real' job, but find that I still keep plenty busy with my hobbies. I love to fish, work on computers, and woodwork with hand and power tools. I have completed several different outdoor projects like decks, docks, steps, and benches the old fashioned way. I am starting with a pretty simple over-the-toilet shelf for my daughter's house. My wife enjoys making stained glass and painting, so I see some picture frame making in my future too! I am excited to try this method to improve the appearance of my projects and maintain the strength at the same time.

Hello, my name is Terrence Knight. I retired. Couple of years ago, and started to get interested in cabinet making. The Kreg jigs have really helped in this hobby.

Blake,

There's lots of info, photos, etc, contained in the Kreg Community forums---

take the time and peruse the various subjects and projects files.

There's a ''search'' field in the upper right hand corner of the screen.

Kregs instructions, included with the kits, are a start.

The instructions provides introduction into Kreg joinery, using basic joints, as well as details for assembly of joints.

TIP: Obtain some pieces of wood, position the pieces together, study it, and figure out how you plan to join those pieces, using the Kreg system.

Works for me.
