I think there must be something wrong with the way I'm setting up. Can't figure this out.

Using the K3, joining 3/4" to 3/4" hardwood.
Using 1 1/4" fine thread washer head screws.
As near as I can tell after double and triple checking all the settings on the jig and stop on the drill bit, everything is set correctly for the thickness of my stock.

When I drive the screws everything tightens up as it should, however the washer head of the screw does not seat below the surface. It gets close-ish but when I try to cover the pocket hole with a plug I cannot completely cover the screw and am left with just a bit of the silver winking out at me. The pan head screw design would seat below flush however it does not appear that they are available in 1 1/4" length.

Anyone have this problem? Know a solution? I've been using the Kreg system for years, though the K3 is new for me. I'd always used the R3 before. This is the first time I'm using it in an application where I need to plug the holes to conceal the screw, so maybe there's something I'm missing.

Any tips or advice would be much appreciated. Thanks!

i agree with Joseph. one other thing you can do is move the stop collar back a smidge and see if it works.
I was curious if you were setting your depth collar based off of the "step" of the bit or the tip. It sounds as though your pocket hole is not getting drilled deep enough to allow for the screw head to go below the surface. When setting the depth collar you will want to always set it based on the "step" of the bit and not the tip. Let us know if this fixes the problem you are having.
