Just wondering how many people have drilled through the bottom of the kreg jig by forgetting to set the piece depth on the jig?
Count me in as one of those people.
(Drill sound)
"Hmmm, what is with the BLUE wood shavings?
Odd - let me drill the second hole and see if the same thing happens....
(Drill sound)
Wow, it did it again....
D'OH!"

I just figured the 2 little 1/8'' holes in the base would make it lighter so it would be easier to lift and move around
Ray,
Then there's someone that would want Kreg to include hold plugs, in the kit.
AND, perhaps a knurled knob on top of each plug, so as to make the plugs easily removable.

Two little holes are just a start. Keep it up and it will be looking like swiss cheese. hehe

Of course you're not, David. and I like your comment. But I have one question, did your grand daughter spell check your reply... and what the heck is a "rule of thum"? Lol, I'm only kidding. All jokes aside, I've drilled right through my Kreg jig many times and it still works great. I usually do it when I'm in a hurry to finish before my 2 yr old twin grand daughters show up. Thanks for the advice about the nickel, I will try it no doubt.

Hey Joe,
Rule of Thum is when you take your Thum to hold nickel...drill through Thum...through nickel...and still get blue wood chips. Geeze, don't you know nuthin? :-)

First let me “ APOLOGIES “ to everyone in the Kreg jig community I know my spelling sucks but Im working on it but in my defines a very strong math back ground and a strong back made a living .
And ya Joe should have let her spell check it but she just started head start here .And here’s a pic of one of my girls at state 1st place for those who think I’m blowing smoke and she used a Kreg jig to build her vanity and we got the Blue Ribbons on the wall.
David,
Great looking piece of work!
Congrats to your daughter on her first place win.
I'm sure you're very proud of her excelling at wood working and her accomplished skills.
She is very fortunate to have a Dad, who has shown her the way.
Don't worry about the spelling---some of us can figure it out.
You're contribution to the Kreg forum community, is well received by many.
Thanks for posting.
David, that project of your Daughter's is more than an excellent piece of work. It is a "mastery of an artist," and should receive high rewards. This just goes to show what a young lady can do and is amazing work. It brings more than a smile to see Her taking an interest in and excelling in such a rewarding craft.
You might feel that you can't spell but really does it matter that much. What you like in the ability to spell you more than ten fold make up for it in being a Dad. Besides that, I have never had a hard time reading your thoughts and understanding them. Some day I hope to shake your hand for what you mean to me and for being a hard working and sharing member of this community.
I'm glad you have shared this photo.
David, just like both Ken and Jay said, don't worry about your spelling this is a wodworking site you are not being graded on you spelling. I have never had any problem reading any of your postings. As far as your daughters first place win it seems to me that the pupil may have become the master. That is something she should really be proud of
This shows us what a good teacher she has had growing up and taking the craftsmanship to heart like he dad has taught her
Thanks guys and she does take me to school now days with this queen ana stuff but we dont pay the legs we make them on the band saw one leg at a time.

Hi. I'm wondering if anyone has used the Woodpecker Free Hand Guard for dust collection on their bench top router table during pattern routing. How effective is it? It's adaptable to any router table. Continue

I saw the video Kreg put out for this new jig and had high hopes for it.
I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.
First the docking station is extremely cheap. The plastic is pathetic. A Lego has more…
