Anyone have a rip cut yet?

I just put away a little at a time.  I hardly ever use my table saw.  The tools are very expensive, but in the long run its worth it.  The dust collections is excellent.

This not a crosscut jig so the weight of the material being cut holds the work in place. The 16' trex decking I cut from 5.5" to 3.75" was not problem of the board moving while I ripped just set 2x6 to support the decking and that cut was deadon. I have not had problem ripping any cut of 12" or less. My neighbor was wondering how we were going to cut that last piece of decking and he was amazed at how quick and accurate that cut was with the jig. For $35 dollars its paid for itself allready in that one cut.

Do you know how much a 20" by 8' piece of plywood weights? Maybe you guys are strong arming the jig if your right handed as I am one left hand on the guide and right had on the triger handle of the saw and your eye on the cut you do not have to push with all your might to hold that guide againts your factory edge. Now if your cutting a 2'x4' piece of plywood it may want to move.

This jig is much more cumbersome to setup in fact I probably will buy a new saw and leave it attached. However the kreg jig cannot make wide cuts near the 2' or more in fact I do not trust my cuts over12".

Yes, I got mine from Wood Craft.  It is Great and only take a few minutes to get all set up and calibrated.

hi gary i purchased 2 of them the day they came out on the market. they work great its basically a t square and the circ saw can slide up and down and lock down anywhere within the 2 ft length.i can cut a 4 x 8 lengthwise in roughly 15 seconds

had mine about a month. it's attached to a porter-cable 6.5" cordless. after i used it a few days i decided to just leave it permanently attached and dedicated to that saw. i don't want to over-hype it but this one is a keeper.

Anyone really expecting perfection cutting anything with a circular saw is expecting too much. I don't care what you use. You are using a circular saw. Not a table saw. You get what you get. If the jig makes things easier for you great it's worth it. If not it's not. Perfect? forget it.

I have to respectfully disagree. With the correct blade and guidance system, I submit you can get cuts that cannot be distinguished from a table saw. I'm not saying the rip cut is that guidance system though. I'm thinking more along the lines of the Festool TS55.

I do too... I do get top notch cuts with my 25 year old milwaukee circ saw, a Freud 60 tooth fine finish blade and one of the Emerson all-in-one clamps..
