I just bought the Kreg jig jr. and the drill stop guide on the case is not in numerical order. the collar settings go (what appears to me) (1/2"),(5/8"),(3/4"),(1"),(1 1/4" @ 1 1/2" shared),(1 1/8"),(1 3/8"). I thought they should be in numerical order, so can any one explain to me why or how I should be using these out of order settings especially if the screws are to exit the center of the boards?  Thanks Big Sky.

Just trust the system, Big Sky- it works great with every thickness of wood. Like magic :)
I saw that in my manual, but the sliders are incremented evenly and in numerical order but the stop collar is not incremented evenly nor in numerical order. If the screws are to exit the center of the boards than this does not seem logical to me. I think tonight i'm going to try all the settings and see what happens. I will post back with my findings.

This is from the manual...

Big Sky,

The order issue you're talking about is due to the variable length of screws recommended for each joint. Using the correct jig setting, depth collar setting, and screw length will get you the optimum settings for each workpiece size.

I totally get it now, the sliders that are incremental determine where the screw exits and the stop collar setting has everything to do with the size of the wood and the unthreaded shank on the recomended screw. Thanks everone for helping me understand this awsome product. I can't wait to get started on my first project with this jig.
