I am in the process of finishing up a master bathroom remodel.  We hired a tile contractor do all of the tiling work for us.  I noticed that between the end of the floor tile and one of the walls he filled in an inch gap with grout.  As we are going to put wainscot on the wall, I was considering building the wall out with 1/8" luan.
All well and good, but yesterday I got to thinking that I have all this paneling that I pulled out of another room and began to think that maybe...just maybe that I could substitute the luan with the paneling.  The paneling was possibly manufactured in 1960.
Do you think this will work?
Thanks.

Yes if not damaged when removed.
The paneling is 1/8". the wainscot that will go over the paneling is about 3/8", then the baseboard is 1/2".
