Kreg Owners' Community

Good morning,

I'm looking to buy a new circular saw? Does anyone have any recommendations, not too expensive?

Thanks

Gary

How is this as a good combo starter set for someone looking into beginning woodwork. I have little experience but would like to grab a kreg jig, some wood, some plans and start working. The price is good with me but anyone have experience with rockwell tools? Thanks
My two cents - I have a $39 Skil.  You will need to replace the blade that comes with it first thing.  I bought a a 40t atb thin kerf and the saw cuts great.  I use it mostly for cutting sheet goods.  I have a 24t blade for cutting framing lumber.  Probably the biggest problem with circle saws is using an extension cord that is too small causing the rpms to drop and kick back.  A lot missing fingers as a result.
Years ago (50's-60's)  Rockwell was a high end brand, who owns them now is anyones guess. All I know for sure is that I have been somewhat underimpressed with the ones I've handled in the last 15 years or so.
