PICKING UP A RIDGID TABLE SAW, JUST DEBATING BETWEEN THE R4510 OR R4512. THE R4512 IS NOW AVAILBLE IN MY AREA. IT HOWEVER HAS A SPLIT FRONT RAIL AND THE EXTENSIONS ARE STAMPED STEEL, INSTEAD OF CAST IRON. WOULD APPRECIATE THE FEED BACK.

I guess I don't understand the debate, they are two completely different saws. I have the 4510 primarily because of limited/shared shop space. I need the capacity to fold it up and get it out of way frequently. The 4512 may be classified as a contractor saw but has much better infeed access than the 4510. Both seem to share splitter/riving knife and dust collection features which are both excellent. Don't know why a split rail would be an issue. Once aligned and set up properly both should slide easily and lock down square. About the only difference would be feeling a slight "bump" while moving the fence. Hardly anything that would affect operation. I don't see much as an issue of stamped vs cast iron wing. The cutting takes place at the blade, all the wings are for is material support. Cast iron wings just give you that much more cast iron to rust on ya. MHO.

Joe,

I sent you a "friend request" with a little note.  Would like to discuss 4510 vs 4512.  I just bought the 4512.

Steve, I just moved into my home. Now my main concern is to get settled in. To get the  house dressed up first. I plan on buying
the R4512. Let me know what you think of the saw. Will be busy, so won't be on the site for awhile.

I am quite pleased with the 4512.  I'd recommend it for purchase.
I would say what you might want to consider is floor space. If you have the room for it and don't need to move it, the 4512 would be a great choice. It's stable and has a large table surface area. In my case, floor space is a premium and I cant leave a saw sitting out so I have the 4510. It does what I want. I just can't use magnetic alignment and safety tools with it. That's an easy work around. But my saw isn't going to rust either.
