Kreg Owners' Community

I am just beginning woodworking and have built a couple of cabinets now. But need to put on on some doors. One cabinet I made the Stiles and Rail with 2" and the rails with 2" and then used a router to to cut the slot for floating board then put it together with the pocket holes. My questions now is this the right why to do it? And the second is now that it makes a nice door how would I make or put a routed edge on a board if I use the pocket holes to join them since I can't just route the whole board (Stiles or rails) then join them. I am lost on this one. I know if I used a InStile & Rail joint it would be easy. But I am using the pocket hole. Any ideas to help me out. Hope I explained it well enough.

Bottom Line: How to route the inside edge of the door panels using a Kreg Pocket Hole?

You could dry-fit the door frame without the panel and rout the edges. The drawback is that you'll be stuck hand-carving the corners (not too tough if it's just a roundover or chamfer).

You could use quarter round glued or tacked into  place.  Here's a link to the Rockler product.  http://www.rockler.com/product.cfm?page=2277

if you click on the product reviews it has some pics to show you how people used them.

What I would suggest you looking into is a set of rail/stile and a raised panel bit for your router.  They may be expensive to buy at first, but the outcome is well worth it.  http://www.mlcswoodworking.com/shopsite_sc/store/html/smarthtml/pag...

Thanks for the comments. Well I broke down and went ahead and purchased the rail/stile raised panel bit. Hope it works out for me. I will let you know how it turns out.
Hi Jack - What kind of set did you order? They come in 3 basic configurations; matched, stacked and reversible. The matched set consists of two bits, one for the cope joint and the other does the profile and slots. The stacked set has both profiles on the same arbor and you change the height to switch between the two operations. The reversible also uses one arbor but needs to be disassembled and reconfigured between the operations.
