On Saturday, I noticed I'm about to polish off my second box of course thread screws. That's a ton of projects under my belt, I'd say.

How many boxes of screws have you gone through?

None I just bought my K3 monday my birthday is Thursday and I thought I would treat myself.
I may get a table saw and a miter saw before the week is out.
Hey I'll be 68 never to old to start.

happy birthday to me.
Happy Birthday indeed Larry! I got the KREG PHJ for Christmas and then 6 boxes of screws for my birthday. At 52 I am planning to make a career change into full time woodworking in about 3 years. Good to have you aboard!

I've been through my share of boxes of screws, too. had the Kreg Jig for about 5 years and use the screws for all sorts of projects even if not really making a pocket hole.

Best prices I've found is to attend The Woodworking Shows when they come to the area once a year. This also lets me check out the latest accessories from Kreg and ask questions or get suggestion on how to best solve a problem.
They will be in the Houston, TX area this weekend - already have my discount tickets printed from the website.

Also McFeeley's has great screws, too. Order their grab-bag and see what you get. Amazing bargain in my books.
youre in canton, im in marietta. is your local hardware store easy to get to. its not hartville hardware is it.
I am guessing that in the last 4 years I have gone through about 2000 screws, both fine and coarse.

First let me say that I am an idiot, I just 'discovered' the pocket hole jig. It would have simplified and improved the quality of my work as a remodeling contractor.

Now to answer the question. In the 3 months that I have had my jig I have used over 3000 1 1/4" coarse screws. I will have to order another 2000 to finish the cabinetry in our retirement home. I hope to upload pictures in the near future.

On half way through my second box of 1-1/4" fine thread screws.  And all of my samples are GONE.
I have used up most of a screw kit and 2 boxes of 100 and I am starting on 2 boxes of 1000 screws.  Amazon sells 1000 screws for  $21.76 so I bought 1 coarse and 1 fine and got free shipping. Beats the store price hands down
YOU NEED TO BUILD A BOAT  WITH THOSE

the other day, i was at the rockler store and picked up a box of 2.5 inch, 50 count. i was thinking i could start an outdoor project as the screws were weather resistant. not realizing what i grabbed and being a kreg newbie, during check out i was like why is my bill so much? turns out i picked up a box of 2.5 inch stainless steal for a whopping 23 bucks a box, ouch! i better come up with a sweat outdoor bench or something.
what size boxes are you talking about, i buy my in 1000 count boxes? amazon has pretty good pricing on this size and free shipping!
That's a good idea I like that.

Talking about plugs. You can make your own buy a 3/8 dowel and drill a pocket it scrap wood put a screw to bott0m shove the dowel in and then take a trim saw and shave it off ,Then take a hammer and hit the screw from bottom and plugs come out.
Good rainny day project

Im almost through my first box of 1000 and ive used almost all of my corse threaded screws in my variety pack (that plastic case with different types in it).

Ive been getting a pretty good deal on ebay a box of 1000 for around $24.
